Into the Dark Lands - Michelle Sagara West This is Michelle Sagara's best book, in my opinion. It's less silly and has more definition than the Elantra books; the characters are good, the world-building is actually very well done, and the magic in it is, quite simply, beautiful. I do like the Elantra books, but they're all kind of the same. This book proves to me that Sagara can invent something very different. That's refreshing.

Yeah, the book is flawed. There are plot-holes. It's a little longer than it should be for the amount of relevant material it covers. The writing can be flat at times. It's the fact that I enjoyed it anyway, that tells me it's actually very good.

I'll recommend this one to my fellow fantasy fans.
