Transformation (Rai Kirah) - Carol Berg I love this book in every way. Carol Berg's writing is phenomenal, as always; her characters are wonderful and strike so close to the heart with their stories and narration; the plot is deep and rich and perfectly executed. I don't have a single complaint to offer.

Seyonne convinced me, with one paragraph, to hate Aleksander. For a good portion of the book I loathed that prince on Seyonne's word. But the further I read, the more I came to realize what an amazing character he was; and it wasn't long before I loved him almost as much as Seyonne. These are two of my favorite heroes of all time; reviewers break my heart by insinuating that there's a romantic relationship between them. I call it FRIENDSHIP, the kind of friendship that I wish existed more often in this world. I've never found anything, book or movie or experience, that so perfectly captures the spirit of true friendship, the kind that beats down barriers like culture, race, and position in life to just show what truly matters: trust.

Both Seyonne and Aleksander spend a fair amount of time wishing after their own respective women, too, by the way....

This book is full of action and beauty, pain and magic, demons and tragedy and the small, scattered joys that break the heart when they come to you. It's not a happy book or an easy one, I admit that; but there aren't many books that I would rather spend my time reading.
