Pandora Hearts, Vol. 12 - Jun Mochizuki This volume was lighter than the last couple. Although I loved the last couple to pieces, it was nice to take a bit of a breather. But of course, Jun didn't let up on the emotional roller-coaster entirely - there were still a lot of really touching scenes, and some sad ones, in here.

I think I underestimated Ada because when she first appeared, it was in the school, and since then she's been all ribbons and lace and blushes. Now I know better. I think if she can't handle Vincent on her own, she'll at the very least make a good try of it, and I'm so glad that it turned out this way. If she keeps appearing here and there, I think I'll really love Ada.

Oscar used to kind of irritate me because he was so simple, but he's getting just a little better with each volume that passes, and now I finally think I like him. Knowing more about his background helps.

Alice was so dear in this volume. I'll never be able to get sniffed by a cat again without thinking of her and grinning - and giving Oz the feathers was so sweet. And dancing. When she insisted on dragging him out there, I thought, "Uh-oh", but as always Alice dealt just fine with the situation. I should have known.

My poor Break. I can't describe how much I love Sharon (Shalon) for reacting the way she did to his blindness, but let's face it, Break is blind in more than one respect.

"I don't know what to do when kids start crying on me." After spending so much time with her, you'd think he would know her better.

I adore Break, by the way. I may have mentioned that once or twice before...

I love her, too, for being such a big-sister type of support for the group. She's only thirteen physically, but she's a steady center for their whirlwind of a crowd, and no matter what she says, she's not weak. Jun Mochizuki has created a masterpiece.

And speaking of, what about the cover for this volume? How can anyone do that, it's not fair.(?) And the internal art is, as always, absolutely gorgeous. She can make you feel any emotion she wants just by drawing a hand or a pair of eyes.

See, we have it all wrong. We're actually the ones being manipulated. All of us who read this series, she has us jumping through her hoops . . . and I, for one, am ready to keep jumping. It'd be sad if I wasn't so enthralled.

On to the next volume, naturally.
