Alice in the Country of Hearts, Vol 6

Alice in the Country of Hearts, Vol. 06 - QuinRose, Soumei Hoshino

This volume was a bit more disjointed than the previous ones - still good, but maybe a bit rushed? I don't know. It also seemed to neglect some of the characters - Julius, Boris, the twins, and Elliot in particular. I think this manga always neglects Julius too much, though.....

I liked the ending. I'd have been furious if Alice actually left Wonderland and got stuck with her boring sister again, but I like that she did try to go back and set things straight. I also like that Blood went after her, although it was painfully predictable and cliché.

All in all, it's a nice, light manga without a whole lot of plot, but some awesome characters, some good humor, and some sweet moments. I actually like it much more than I thought I would, and I'll probably be going back soon to read through it again.

.......If it makes any sense, I actually enjoyed it more than three-and-a-half stars would suggest. Maybe four-and-a-half. But I'm giving this volume this rating, and the manga as a whole maybe four stars, because of the quality....unfortunately, the artwork can be pretty shoddy and there's not a whole lot of depth to the plot. But if all you want are good characters, this is probably a good one to read anyway. If you do, I hope you like it!
